Update in Regard to COVID-19
March 4, 2020
We’d like to start off by sending our condolences to our neighbours in Washington state, as well as the people and communities in B.C. and around the world who have been affected by COVID-19.
The #BCTECHSummit team is closely monitoring the coronavirus situation. The health and safety of our attendees and partners is our top priority, and we will be implementing appropriate precautionary measures.
Interest levels for the #BCTECHSummit remain high, we are proceeding as planned, and we are working closely with our venue, local health authorities and partner organizations to plan for a safe event.
We understand and respect the cautionary decisions by other, large, U.S. and international conferences to postpone or transition to a web-based format. However, at this time, the Public Health Agency of Canada (PHAC) has assessed the public health risk associated with coronavirus for Canada as low. In addition, the B.C. Ministry of Health has indicated their belief that “the risk of COVID-19 spreading within British Columbia remains low.”
If our assessment of the situation changes, based on new and evolving developments or updated information, we will update this statement regarding the status of #BCTECHSummit accordingly. Again, our first priority is the health and safety of our team, partners, attendees and community.
Please email info@bctechsummit.ca if you have any questions or concerns and read this message from our venue partners at the Vancouver Convention Centre for more info. We look forward to seeing you on June 1-2, 2020 in Vancouver.
